00:14-03:33 The Drums – Let’s Go Surfing – Summertime
- I’ve never heard of this band before. Definitely has elements of indie pop, rock, and new wave. They’re from Brooklyn but the lead vocalist has somewhat of a British accent. I’ve only heard this one song, but it kinda reminds me of Jennifer Gentle.

07:36-09:44 Langhorne Slim – Back to the Wild – Be Set Free
- This is an artist that I’ve always liked. There isn’t really any of his songs that I don’t appreciate, and “Back to the Wild” is no exception. You can think of it as Alternative Folk.

12:01-14:44 The Feelies – She Said She Said [Cover] – The Good Earth [1986]
- I can’t speak from experience since I don’t remember how The Beatles did this song originally, but I feel that The Feelies lack enough emotion to really make this cover stand out. But again, I don’t remember how the original sounds so take what I say with a grain of salt.

16:07-18:23 Girls – Lust for Life – Album
- No, it’s not an Iggy Pop cover. My initial reaction is early indie with a punk feel, kinda like The Undertones meets The Strokes (I realize that they’re not early indie but that’s what I thought, OK?). The lead vocalist definitely has a unique voice and I love when the violins come in near the end. Nice touch.

18:32-22:27 The XX – Heart Skipped a Beat – XX
- The bass drum at the beginning of the songs really draws you in. Then they add some simple guitar chords. It’s a very minimilistic and melodic indie pop song with male and female lead vocals. Not band at all.

22:36-26:48 Roman Candle – They Say [Twit Tune of the Week]
- For some reason I can’t think of what band Roman Candle reminds me of, but it has elements of inde rock and pop. Oh, wait a minute, I just remembered. They remind me of a mellow Maximo Park, if you can think of how that would sound.

28:09-31:47 Will Hoge – Even If It Breaks Your Heart – Even If It Breaks Your Heart
- At first I thought it had somewhat of a Bob Dylan feel, but when the guitars came in I then thought of The Wallflowers. Makes sense, right? Since they’re both Dylans. Anyway, this band is basically melodic pop/rock that is VERY radio friendly. Wait, why am I writing this then? Oh well, I guess I felt like it.

37:04-40:42 The Very Best – Warm Heart of Africa – Warm Heart of Africa
- As I said in one of my previous posts in the Napster category about their album:

There’s an obvious African influence in their music (akin to Vampire Weekend), but it’s a lot more authentic (not always English) and they mix in dance elements as well as indie rock. From start to finish it’s a worthy listen.

44:58-46:58 Copeland – What Cannot Be Found Pt 1 – The Gray Man
- Their sound immediately reminds me of Pinback, but somewhat of a mellower style. It has a nice mix of various instruments, and techniques. It’s also short and sweet at only two minutes long. Definitely worth a listen.
